Roland Fantom VS en ARX-uitbreiding De VS-700R bevat eveneens de Roland Fantom VS hardware synthesizer, welke de riante reeks interne synths van SONAR 8 compleet maakt. De Fantom VS werkt als een hardware VSTi-instrument met onbeperkte toegang tot alle parameters via een specifieke software plug-in interface en editor binnen SONAR. Omdat de Fantom VS wordt aangedreden door een DSP binnenin de VS-700R I/O, is er helemaal geen latency en wordt de processor nauwelijks belast.
