Sonicsmith ConVertor+

The core of this Sonicsmith ConVertor+ synthesizer is its ACO chip. This stands for Audio Controlled Oscillator. It's able to produce two waveforms (mix between square and sawtooth) based on your input signal. You can use both line signals and dynamic microphone signals thanks to the clean +40 dB gain. It'll only need 5-12 microseconds to analyze the pitch, envelope, gate and trigger to control the oscillator. The ACO can determine the pitch of the input signal thanks to the auto-tracking filter. This works as 2-pole (faster) or 4-pole (tighter). You can also assign this filter to the output so that the synthesizer output signal will be filtered. Unlike other VCOs, this ACO is very precise in pitch with an 8 octave range. You even have a sidechain input to modulate the envelope. With the 'envelope amount' knob you can control the amplitude of the CV output and even reverse the polarity. Thanks to the handy thru outputs you can reuse the input signal. There are 2 times 4 LEDs to measure the input signal and the sidechain signal. In short: with numerous CV inputs and outputs generated from monophonic audio signals, you'll have enough options to make music in a completely new way. This Sonicsmith ConVertor+ is therefore not only suitable as a stand-alone synthesizer, but also in combination with other modular modules or synthesizers.
